The Bengals today signed free agent HB Aaron Brown. Classified a third-year NFL player for 2012, Brown (6-1, 205; Texas Christian) was a sixth-round draft choice by the Detroit Lions in 2009.
He played in 22 games with two starts for the Lions over 2009-11, with 44 rushes for 189 yards (4.3 avg.) and 18 receptions for 129 yards (7.2), with one receiving TD. He also averaged 22.3 yards on 15 kickoff returns. He was with the Lions in the 2011 preseason, was waived in final preseason cuts, and re-signed with Detroit for Games 12-15, playing in one game and designated inactive in three. He was released on Dec. 28.
In four seasons at Texas Christian, Brown rushed for 2596 yards with 20 TDs and had 857 receiving yards with five TDs.
