A Tri-State girl is recovering after she was attacked by a peacock. The bird is considered the unofficial mascot of New Richmond.

Two-year-old Kylie Holland was feeding the ducks when she was suddenly attacked. "It gouged her face, and that's when she fell to the ground, and you could see the blood as soon as we picked her up," said Brandon Holland, the girl's father. She received seven stitches and a swollen lip.

Jacob the peacock has long been a fixture in New Richmond, roaming freely. New Richmond Police said they're taking the matter very seriously, but because the bird doesn't belong to the village, there's little they can do.
